Penang Trip and Back to Teluk Intan

Warning, this post is quite a long one with many useless words inside it(since it's my on9 diary which I'm gona show my grandkids one day so I put in all the teensy weensy details) so if you're bored of reading, just look at the pics la, I took the liberty of uploading soo many. Cool road name ehh? Too bad its a hoax

I must be the last person on Earth to be watching Heroes but better late than never ehh? I've watched 4 episodes till 3am last night and the only thing that strikes me funny is that, 5 strangers from across the globe find their special powers. Across the globe? HELLO! 4 of them are in USA and one Japanese? Like What? China and India? Most populated countries? LOL.

Okay okay so I promised to blog about my vacation, and Daniel is bugging me nonstop lol, so voila here it is.

So our last paper was our uhh what was it again? Chemistry paper 1? Yeah that was it. We would have shouted like crazy mental sakai baboons after the exam except that Pn Azian had a debriefing so all of us like calmed down so tangga 11 was not crazy as usual. We had a quick change of clothes and threw our books onto the already-burning bonfire and left for Bukit Bintang.

The 5 of us (four 11-2-A2 + Chai) took the KTM and then Monorail to Hang Tuah and went to Times Square 1st. Had a ginormous meal at The Chicken Rice Shop and left feeling filled to the brim with food(its been awhile since I've been that full, never in KTT). We went window shopping as we didn't really had anything in mind to buy. I got myself a new earring(okay that sounds gay but its not). Then we headed over to Romp. Passed Krispy Kreme but we were too full to even have a second look(craving for doughnuts now).

Romp bla bla tried on a few shirts and jeans and stuff. Got myself a pair of jeans and a shirt. Didn't want to pay cash since if I did, I'd have to withdraw again so I used my plastic money =D with my mum's approval of course. Thank you mummy. Then we headed to Lowyat and got myself a Laptop Cooler and Chai got his new Laptop Bag.

We watched 10 minutes of Indiana Jones and it was SOOO DAMN BORING! So we switched to Yes Man coz Bryant recommended it but it turned out to be some lame comedy. Finally slept around 3am.


THURSDAY
Miraculously after 4 hours of sleep, woke up to go jogging at 7.30am, amazing? Yeah I know. The thing is there were seniors jogging at that time too, wow. Thought no1 else would be that crazy haha. Then we had massive cleaning of the apartment which was in such a sorry state since we had exams and all. Packed, left at around 4.30 for KL Sentral.

Had McD for dinner, met Chai and Selvan there and boarded the train. Each of us had a bunker to ourselves and it was quite cosy and comfortable. I'm an extremely light sleeper but I think that 4 hours of sleep made me dead tired so I just pengsan-ed after an hour on the train. Amazingly with all the jolts and bumps I slept soundly.

We reached Butterworth at 4.30am and had coffee while waiting for the 1st ferry to Penang which was at 6am. We reached Penang around 6.30am and took a bus to Gurney Drive and walked around till we ended up in this coffee shop which we had breakfast. Chai as usual addicted to internet, left the table and went to online with the free WiFi. The fella actually ordered Bloody Mary(vodka mixed with tomato, tobasco, pepper, salt and who knows what else) for breakfast. Of course I had to try. Barely the taste of alcohol, the other ingredients overwhelms the vodka, didn't like it.

So then we headed over to Gurney Plaza at 10smth and had to drag our bags all along coz the stupid mall had no lockers. After that headed over to the hotel where we had to wait sooo long to check in. After we checked in, had our baths and instead of resting, we obviously went out =D

We thought ahh what the heck, take the bus to Batu Maung then get lunch there. It took us 45 mins to the jetty and another 1.5 hours to Batu Maung by bus. Like WTF? It u-turned more than 3 times! Damn bus. So we were dead starving with no lunch till 4pm when we reached the musuem. The cafe was closed so we ate Chipsmore. It was the BEST chipsmore I've ever had. Could you believe it? We STARVED in PENANG. Those 2 words are like impossible to put together in a sentence yet we did it lol.

The war musuem was ok-ok la. The tunnel part was exciting and I wish we had gotten the torchlights and explored the dark tunnel with bats. Should have been more interesting than some boring sej crap.

So since we saved money on lunch, we ate like uhh hmm starving KTT people? HAHA. We ate and ate and ate. We had altogether, a few Laksa, Char Kuay Teows, Prawn Mee, Muar Chee, Pork Satay, BuBu ChaCha, Ikan Bakar, Pari Bakar, Lala Bakar, Sotong+Kangkung and sesame seed sauce. Lucky no space for Pasembur or not that one also haha.

And that was 5 people only lol. Selvan ready to ko already.

And so they did. Look how much space is left for me to squeeze in. LOL.

Saturday

This was round 1 of my complimentary breakfast on the followong day. Round two and three didn't take pics haha.

Chai and Keshan woke up 1st so they had the complimentary breakfast for 2 at the hotel's restaurant. And here starts Chai's diarrhea problem. We headed to Kek Lok Si temple and well I've been there like twice before and it was normal la coz not during CNY and all. Had our brunch there and I wanted the herbal tea, the waiter thought I wanted a Carlsberg lol. There were more shops there and we had good bargains there.

Anyway, then we got off near the Komtar bus station to have the famous Kassim Nasi Kandar for our 2nd lunch, it was gooood food, yummy. Then we went back to the hotel and went out to the pool in the evening where sadly my swimming sucks like mad. Lost to Keshan badly =D but I haven't swam in like years except that PD trip. One day, when my body is a bit more streamlined......HAHAHAHA.

Night we met up with the ever beautiful and graceful(she paid me to say this) Cheeky Christine who I can never win an arguement against. Anyway, we met up with Christine and took a bus to Batu Feringhi. There we shop shop shop lagi and makaned a lot as usual with our table number getting confused. 68 and 89 is similar. So there was a major confusion with the food delivery haha.

Botanical Garden + Balik (Sunday)

So in the morning, the best tour guide money can buy, Christine(sorry hehe, thx a bunch), drove to our hotel and took us to the Botanical Gardens. It was really a nice place to relax and have a morning jog. It was really peaceful and serene, until we shattered the peace and traquility HAHA.Taken with my DSLR. Nah with my 5610 la haha. This should go on the tourism website or smth. What an awesome sight.

Journey Back + Teluk Intan
She then dropped us off at Gurney Plaza where we had our lunch and then balik to Butterworth. Thanks a lot Christine for making time n driving us around n all. Then we took a bus back to Ipoh and then Chai left for Pusing and we 3 took a bus back to Teluk Intan. Reached around 8pm++ i think. Went round town, bought Chee Cheong Fun then went back. Selvan really liked Rocky and Keshan 2.

Mum cooked for us dinner then next morning went round town again, went to Nana's(grandma) house for awhile, had nasi kandar style lunch and found out in The Store that I needed to lose 8kgs(walaoeh die la). So after the holidays, serious diet and jogging again(sigh). Got on bus, bye the bye and balik.

Went out with the usual bunch of friends minus Jeya and Pei Wen(who is too busy =p). Anyway, we booked the whole cinema for a private screening of Angels and Demons. Nah it was just empty besides us 6 and another uncle, sad huh? Could even take pics in the cinema(like what?). Anyway then we headed over to Giant and the layout is 100% like Nilai's one so I got a headache thinking im in KTT. Ate and drank Coffee+Tea mixed at Old Town. Had Hor Fun which tasted
below average and full of oil, service was terrible. Had to go home early coz Gan was sick.

Not bad la the entrance n all, but empty. Doubt it'll survive in TI.

Anyway going out to SteakFactory 2moro and gona watch Terminator, last outing before going back to KTT. Sigh, anyway, cya guys in KTT then. Juniors watch out, your seniors, they're crazy people. Crazy crazy crazyyy... *sinister laugh*

Wow after 2 whole months++ I'm back to this blog. Tengah kena scrutinised by the webcam so kinda hard to get the brain juices flowing. Anyway, so well 2 months++ so I've got a WHOLE lot happening in my life and also in dull, boring, pathetic(exciting amazing fantastic exargulargovent(i made that up by the way)) KTT.

Paroimia was a play organised by FGA KL(Liyan's church). It was really a cool play with a deep meaning plus the venue was awesome and the slowmo strobe light effect was amazing. Pics =D

We went to INTEC(Shah Alam) to have a combined CF. We(KTT) lead praise and worship session and guess who got to play an electric guitar? Hell(heaven) yeah! First ever time playing an electric guitar and had to play it front of unknown people in an unknown place, was really nervous but it turned out fine. The sad part was, THERE IS JUST ONE BLURRY PIC OF ME AND THE ELECTRIC GUITAR =( And I was the only guy on the whole 7 or 8 people pf musicians up there LOL. They HAD to mention that la lol.

Now, KTT. Hmm nothing much actually happened in the last 2 months as our AS examinations were right around the corner. Recom was abuzz due to everyone getting their JPA scholarship results and all, kinda disappointed with some juniors who are too lazy to read through the whole KTT thread in ReCom to get their info but just ask. Anywayyyyyyy, lets dive into KTT =D

Immediately after Pre-AS, everyone started studying for AS exam. Imagine 2 whole months of studying non stop, only resting the brains for food, toilet, evenings and sleep. This whole week of holidays I'm not gona use my brains, HAHA, okay maybe a little la, so bear with my sudden stupidity.

We went to kacau the MM and came back and saw how many books on the floor. This is AS revision(Physics)

Guess the only significant thing that happened was the AS examinations. Mine started with Bio Lab. And we only had 1 lab exam before the real thing, ever. So obviously we were preety nervous. Well basically all the exams went okay-ish except *drum rolls* CHEMISTRY!

My model agreed to pose. Nah actually we were in the lab doing titration, but I got bored. Haha. To the juniors, this is what you'll be doing. Solo.

Well the lab was FUN though tough. We had to wear surgical masks cause steamy fumes were everywhere, people coughing here and there non-stop, fume chamber fan switched on(for the first time I'm sure), windows open. I had to remind myself not to enjoy it too much but to actually do it properly as it was our real exam. Other labs had temperatures of over 100C and mercury over the thermometer level, exploding plastic cups and 20+ test tubes broken on the floor and not to mention a guy cut his palm with a pipette requiring 8 stitches(o.O)

Chemistry paper 2, 8th June 2009. The day when I panicked in an exam. First time ever. Ugh, hate that feeling. Stupidly had my 350 calculator and not enough time to solve the damn quadratic thing! I really pray for a miracle so I can get an A for Chemistry =(

Our old friend Pak Cik Parang gave us a visit. This is how we keep him out. Haha joking la, it was actually Daniel outside =D

So after being all stressed out, how do we let lose? By having a slimy disgusting surprise birthday party of course haha! It was Man See's party this time. It was really nice and disgusting and we cleaned up the mess with a fire hose lol.

So in between the exams I had my parents' car over in the college cause they went off holidaying to the UK. Drove them to LCCT and had the car for 1 and a half weeks. It was like bulan puasa all over again =D Lunch was Chinese food everyday. Then when they came back, they got me lotsa cool stuff, wheee. They went to Manchester, London, Liverpool, Preston, Paris and I don't know where else lol.

Back to exams and this is how we destress. Sometimes we just take a walk down to tangga 10 and visit the MM aka Makcik Minimart. We wanted to take a picture with her, but I forgot to do it before the holidays. She's really friendly and funny haha. Anytime you want a laugh, just go and kacau her =D

A2 books came when we were gona finish AS. Pulled me down to the ground. Sigh A2.

So right after our exams ended Pn Azian had a special meeting with us. The class streaming rumour had been going around for quite some time and my friend said someone told her that he has seen the namelist of the new classes. I felt kinda sad cause I only got 11 points for Pre-As which would put me in a bad class =( But after beating around a HUGE bush, Pn Azian told us there would be no streaming. Yay =D Too bad for Joey and Daniel and Prittipal, you're STUCK with me wahahahaha!

U guys are stuck with me till A2 =D We had a makeup session during IELTS. Don't worry I didn't put on no makeup 'puh-lease' hahahaha.

Back to Teluk Intan

So now for my 'back in Teluk Intan' post. Came back with the usual InterCity KTM from Central to Tapah Road. Watched the Butterfly Effect(it's a movie btw) on my laptop in the train. Didn't like the movie. Too psychopath-ish, gruesome killing and just a psycho movie. Freaks.


Back to good old Teluk Intan. Much have changed over the years. Been here ever since birth and I love it. Recent changes include McD, hypermarket, Giant(when is it ever gona open) and yes, a cinema(oh finally).


By the way it is in PERAK! Just for those of you who don't know. If you googled Teluk Intan, you'd find pictures and info of the Leaning Tower and Chee Cheong Fun. Those are synonymous to Teluk Intan.

Good Friday
So this was the day that our Lord Jesus died on the cross for all our sins bearing the pain and the shame for us.

We were vegetarians and had parrapu(?) sambar and pappadum(?). Yeah it's the curry/sauce you guys usually eat with thosai and roti canai in KTT. Pappadum is the yellow crunchy keropok kinda thingy u eat at Indian restaurants. Went to church in the evening and had butter naan for dinner, yummy.



Saturday
Went to my secondary school to see my old friends and teachers. They had school as it was the day to take the report card. Most of my teachers said I lost weight(yay) and most if not all was staring at my earring, Teluk Intan people, seesh. Had fun going back to school, felt like it was form 5 all over again. But I would never had entered form 6 there.

After picking up my bro from school and getting his report card, went to string my new badminton racquet =D I finally bought a racquet, its a cheap one la so don't comment so much, I not as rich as you guys lol. Went for lunch at our fav char siew rice shop. We went shopping after that, could u imagine lol. First time my bro wanted to go shopping, guess times have changed haha. Bought overselves a nice tee each and headed home.


Went to church around 9 and bro played guitar and mum played organ for the Easter Mass. They both played very well. One day gotta go play for church, maybe during my holidays after A2 till flying to India. Went to Nana's place for supper and had her famous roast chicken with sausages and salad and bread.



Sunday :: Easter
The day Jesus rose from the dead, conquered death and lives forevermore in heaven.

Went out for lunch in Aunty Cecilia's place. Had a really good lunch with steamed chicken and mixed salad and prawn sambal and her famous sourish pork soup with that vegetable which I forgot the name lol, Chinese name I think.

Chatted the whole day and had amazing roasted lamb for dinner. Took extra big helpings haha sorry guys. I'm royalty =D Slept early.



Monday
Woke up early, went to get my full license =D No more stupid P license. I'm free to break the rules now haha. Oh yeah, I just got my credit card also haha, unlimited shopping! Haha.

Random KTT Entry

As always, I'll blog everytime I'm back in dreamy Teluk Intan. This would be a post without pictures so it would be boring-lah cause I ain't that good with words but I can't seem to transfer pics from my phone. Next up comes Feskott 2009, which actually is Festival Sukan Kolej Teknologi Timur. It was quite fun cause all the Diploma students(a lot) and Matrix students were also involved so it was the whole of KTT there. I was in the Yellow house and we basically won almost every track and field event(thanks to Keshan of course) and we won the most Havoc group, and the best tent decorations and Larian Mesra, and olahragawan also from our group(Keshan) but we didn't win overall. Red house won and it was quite controversial cause everyone thought it would be us. But we had a lot of fun especially our group leader taunting other teams when we won something. It was super funny. When Red team won, instead of cheering Red team, the others were chanting "Kuning tak menang, HAHA". That was so funny. It was a fun event after all.



This is totally random butt(pardon the pun) I have an err I think I can call it interesting/disgusting story here. It started like any other evening, Me, Selvan and Keshan couldn't play badminton coz it was very windy so decided to go jalan-jalan at the padang there. Then we thought lets go to the abandoned buildings at the side(near the main road). It was the same as ever, my thoughts were, it was a place to dump bodies and no one would find out, someone else thought it was a place to make out(haha). After passing that, we came upon the great evil! There was a guy butt naked(I always thought it was just a saying, boy I was wrong), taking his bath from a water source. We looked at each other, and instead of covering up, he was just calmly covering his private part with a cloth, EWW. And after that ordeal, we kept walking and suddenly there was a friggin Rottweiler barking at us. It was huge and the chain looked worn out. Seriously was kinda scared it just might charge at us, walked quickly by and thank God nothing happened. Wouldn't recommend taking that route to anyone in KTT. Unless you want to have an eyesore and a death wish =D




Another ramdomity. In KTT we all know the sad state of the WiFi which we PAY for. Now i'll go through the stages to actually get connected to the internet in KTT
1. Search for KTT1 or KTT2 signal. (most probably can't find it other than stupid StandAlone)
2. If there is a signal, it might be zero bar so don't get too excited yet.
3. Try connecting, fail to connect about a zillion times.
4. Once connected, you're not there yet, it might be LOCAL only, no internet.
5. Once there's internet, gotta check wether can even use it. Most of the time can't even load Yahoo.
6. Once in a blue(nah blue is too often, once in a rainbow-coloured moon) the internet is at usable speed.

So that is our sorry state of internet in KTT. No wonder people are switching to broadband nowadays. Broadband is quite pricey but its really fast. Bad influence though. You'd better study aight.



60 Earth Hour! 11-2-A2 supports Earth Hour! We switched off all our lights and Keshan and Selvan tried to study by a stand lamp brought by Keshan but to no avail. Me and Selvan desperate to study went to CR. On the way, saw all the people walking in the opposite direction to the cafe, even the nerds and all those people we have never seen(okay rarely seen) before coming out of their enclaves. But we, super nerds instead was heading in the opposite direction, that was really pathetic lol.




So next up was exams. We had our first practical exams which I was quite nervous to do actually. The lecturer made us feel so much 'better'. "You all are the first batch, first time doing practical, first session, don't be nervous". Bio lab was okay-ish I suppose, almost made a mistake with the slide and mitosis. Chem lab was rushy cause we had to do 3 experiments within an hour, think I messed up the QA a bit. Phy lab was okay-ish also except the circuit was confusing lol.



And us being the nerds we are, Wong came up the tangga, I asked him how was Chem, he complained "Aiyah! I got 1 wrong!" Haha. All of us here even 1 mistake can be costly. I remember last time in Form 5, 1 wrong would be like amazingly hebat people lol.




So after exams we scooted off to Mid Valley and shopped all day. Didn't buy anything though hmm. Finally tried Subway here. It was great but not as good as the one in Australia(miss the bacon lol =D)



Basically that is all that happened in KTT. Yes this must be my most boring post yet but, maybe KTT is getting more boring day by day. Even the scandals are getting boring cause its getting overly complicated nowadays. Gossip Girl pun kalah la haha.

Okay then, till the next holidays! Happy KTT-ing. KTT-ians rock!
